I am filing this complaint against MakeMyTrip (MMT) for unfair cancellation charges, misleading information, financial loss, and severe mental distress.

On **rd December ****, I booked a refundable international flight ticket from London to Mumbai for travel on *th March ****. The total ticket amount was Rs. **,***/-.

Within ** hours of booking, I attempted to cancel the ticket through the MMT app and website, but both showed technical errors. I immediately contacted customer care; however, even their executive was unable to process the cancellation due to the same system issue. I was clearly assured that the cancellation charges would remain the same until *th March **** and that I would not suffer any loss because the issue was from their end.

On **th December ****, I formally emailed MMT explaining the entire issue and clearly stated that since I had been trying to cancel the ticket from **th December ****, any extra charges beyond that date would not be my responsibility as the fault was entirely on MMT’s side. Despite repeated calls and follow-ups, I did not receive a single written response until **-**-****, when I finally received attention only after contacting them via Instagram.

It took over ** days just to inform me about the refund amount. After making at least ** stressful calls, I was told that out of Rs. **,***/-, I would receive only Rs. **,***/-, meaning nearly **% of my ticket amount was deducted, claiming I failed to cancel within ** hours.

This is completely unjust. I made every possible effort to cancel within ** hours but was prevented due to MMT’s own technical failure.

MMT further claimed that around Rs. **,***/- was charged by the airline (Air India). However, when I contacted Air India, they informed me they could not view cancellation details because the ticket was locked by MMT, raising serious transparency concerns.

Due to MMT’s negligence, I suffered a financial loss of approximately Rs. **,***/-, extreme mental stress, repeated follow-ups, and unnecessary harassment.

I have all supporting emails, screenshots of errors, and call records.

I request a full refund of the unfairly deducted amount and compensation for the mental harassment caused.
